Ahmed Hashem has about 12 years’ experience in information security and 18 years’ experience in IT in general. Before joining IBM, he worked as a senior principal consultant in multinational consulting firms for 7 years. In addition, he was the corporate information security manager for one of the largest financial institutions in the Middle East, managing its security operations in Egypt, Saudi, UAE, Oman and Qatar. In his early career, he worked as a software developer and a system engineer.
With a consultancy, technology and operations background, Ahmed has experience in developing and implementing information/cyber security strategies, enterprise security architecture frameworks, SOC assessment and processes development, threat management frameworks, GRC frameworks, SOC strategy and roadmaps for organisations in different industries including Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Financial services and governments.
Ahmed has a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering and a M.Sc. in Computer Science from the American University in Cairo (AUC). He holds multiple technical certificates like CISPP, SCF, GCTI, GICSP, GCIH and GPEN.
