A committee of esteemed South African security specialists advises ITWeb on the theme, topic and content for this event.

As part of the Security Summit Advisory Committee, SensePost plays an integral role in identifying the theme, tracks, topics and speakers, and finally evaluating and selecting papers. Tony Olivier, founder and host of the IT Security Pubcast joins the committee for the first time this year.

One of South Africa’s most respected information security practitioners, Tony is a strategic thinker who has a fascination with people and how society works.
Mariette du Plessis, who was instrumental in planning the very first Security Summit in 2006, plays an active role in defining the programme, ensuring the content meets with the highest criteria.

Former editor of ComputerWeek, ITWeb Events programme director, and strategic consultant to many IT companies and government projects, she has a long and established history in the local IT Industry as is well known for her no-nonsense approach. She is passionate about the content presented at the summit and her role as a gatekeeper ensures that delegate content requirements are met.

ISG Africa was created in response to the increase of information security threats facing companies in Africa. This volunteer Group, which consists of security professionals from Corporate, Government and IT / Legal firms within Africa, aims to provide a monthly forum for the exchange of InfoSec information and experience between members and raise awareness of potential vulnerabilities within organisations.
