Kaseya unveils 2011's bag of tricks
Johannesburg, 8 Jun 2011

In the second half of the year, Kaseya will focus on advanced scripting, next-generation scale expansion, custom reports and monitoring, says president Mark Sutherland.
For organisations looking to increase task automation, application management and networking will be essential focus areas this year.

So said Kaseya's president, Mark Sutherland, speaking during the Kaseya Connect executive forum, hosted in partnership with ITWeb, at The Forum in Bryanston yesterday.

At the forum, themed Providing Enterprise-Class IT Systems Management, Kaseya gave a sneak preview of products it believes will increase application management in businesses.

Professional Services Automation integration with added functionality including the ability to control synchronisation, two-way ticketing, synchronisation of customers and a dashboard to monitor integration, was previewed.

The event also saw the announcement of Kaseya's acquisition of Intellipool, a Swedish-based organisation specialising in network monitoring which have a client list that includes Osram and Boeing.

According to Kaseya, this acquisition will enable it to provide users with a seamless solution in the managed services industry. Intellipool's services will be rolled out in SA during the course of this month.

Sutherland gave South African users the chance to get some hands-on experience of what Kaseya has in store. This includes service management for mobile devices, regardless of whether they operate on RIM, Android or Apple technology. The mobile platform will include phone registration, backup and restore, tracking of the device as well as a hardware and application audit feature.

“With the launch of our mobile offerings, Kaseya is going to make the switch from being device-centric to user-centric,” said Sutherland. This will afford users the opportunity to integrate, formalise and automate the management of this extremely disruptive technology as part of their ITSM platform and negate the security and asset tracking issues currently faced by the IT service management industry, he added.

Customer service plays a big role in the managed services provider industry, and with this in mind, Kaseya has introduced a formal certification programme. The programme will ensure there is a formal level of recognition for increased proficiency by the industry. The programme started on 15 May.

The second half of 2011 will see a focus on advanced scripting, next-generation scale expansion, custom reports and monitoring.

“By making corporate applications from multiple sources available, Kaseya provide a fully-integrated framework, which is inexpensive and seamless; providing greater efficiency,” explains Gerald Blackie, international CEO and chairman of Kaseya.
