Mayan Mathen

Mayan Mathen is Chief Technology Officer, for Dimension Data Middle East & Africa. In this high level strategic position, Mayan is responsible for technology strategy, strategic alliances and solutions management across multiple lines of business and divisions. He provides technology thought leadership and direction to the Middle East & Africa business, vendors and clients, and is responsible for group technology standards, governance and execution in the Middle East and Africa theatre of the Group's operations.

One of Mayan's most strategic objectives is the creation of business value propositions across all Dimension Data solution groups and verticals across the region. This enables the business to demonstrate how Dimension Data can assist clients in growing their business and how technology can enable true competitive advantage and cost effectiveness. His extensive experience in architecting complex networking environments and his insight into market developments and key vendor strategies and their impact on client environments make him a key driver of innovation within the business, and his commentary on the technology and business arenas is highly sought after and valued.

Mayan joined Dimension Data in 2004 as a National Practice Manager in Dimension Data's first Converged Communications practice, and subsequently moved on to become Chief Technologist. In this role he was responsible for developing complex client-centric solutions across all Dimension Data's offerings. Leveraging the insight, skills and partnerships he developed during this time, he stepped up to the demanding position of Chief Technology Officer for Middle East and Africa in 2008. Throughout his career, Mayan has striven to stay informed and maximise his understanding of technology and business for the benefit of our clients. He has earned numerous IT-related vendor accreditations. Mayan spends a lot of time interacting and debating with industry peers, analysts and specialists, attending conferences and engaging in roundtable discussions in order to stay current with industry trends and developments and his acumen and insight are invaluable assets to the organisation and its clients.
