Mark Bannerman is SA country manager for MicroStrategy. Bannerman is a veteran in the IT industry, with over 17 years’ experience. During this time, he has worked in a number of roles spanning services director, sales director, and most recently country MD.

Bannerman’s focus areas have been around ERP, CRM and service desk applications, and most recently business intelligence. He is skilled in enterprise sales, as well as the management and growth of software and consulting organisations.

In his free time, he enjoys the sport of show jumping, as well as spending quality time with his family.

Izak Bester, sales engineer, MicroStrategy
Izak Bester has served as sales engineer since 2011. Prior to that, Bester was employed at Ernst & Young as a data analyst from 2009 to 2011. He is mainly responsible for building proof of concepts to demonstrate the capabilities that MicroStrategy provides. It also entails delivering presentations to the customer for the proposed solution, as well as presenting training classes in terms of what MicroStrategy offers for mobile, BI and overall capabilities. Bester received a BCom (Hons) in Informatics from the University of Pretoria.


Stefan Harbron, professional services director, MicroStrategy
Stefan Harbron has served as Professional Services Director since 2012 and Sales Engineer since 2008. Prior to that Stefan Harbron was employed at Unison Communications South Africa as Head of MIS from 2003 to 2008. Mr. Harbron is responsible for the recruiting, management and career development of production consulting staff, for ensuring quality services delivery in all consulting engagements, and for revenue growth of new services and license business opportunities in the South African region. Mr. Harbron received a in Engineering at North-West University.


Hywel Moore, sales engineering (Scotland & Northern England)
Hywel manages all MicroStrategy sales engineering activity in Scotland and the North of England. His extensive BI and CRM knowledge comes from over 20 years of experience in both senior IT and sales engineering positions. Hywel brings a unique blend of business and technical skills to his role enabling him to communicate with technical and business audiences alike.

Hywel was IT Advisor to the Royal Saudi Air Force before settling in Scotland in 1994. He enjoyed a highly successful career in consultancy and pre-sales at Holistic Systems, Seagate Software, Crystal Decisions and then Siebel Systems where he won many awards for his achievements. After leaving Siebel, Hywel joined Halifax Bank of Scotland where he was responsible for the Siebel implementation within the Direct Business Bank.

Hywel initially joined MicroStrategy in2004 and was instrumental in developing the Scottish region where he successfully added several new accounts. In 2006 Hywel moved on to Clydesdale Bank as Head of IT & BI. In this role Hywel was responsible for the BI and CRM strategy and was instrumental in establishing the Office of Data Management (BICC). In his next role at Sage as Head of Business Intelligence Hywel excelled at turning around a failed BI department and successfully delivered a successful MicroStrategy for sales performance project.

With his extensive skill set and experience MicroStrategy enticed Hywel back into the fold in 2010. Hywel re-joined the UK team with the strategic remit of re-establishing MicroStrategy in Scotland and the North. Hywel has made significant inroads in developing this territory and was awarded the EMEA Sales Engineer of Q3 Award in recognition of achievements.


Tinia Scholtz, senior manager: retail analytics and insights, Nedbank
Tinia is a Senior Manager: Retail Analytics and Insight at Nedbank with over 8 year of IT management and consulting experience. Prior to joining Nedbank Tinia was a consultant in both Business Intelligence and ERP implementation. She has gained experience in various industries, implementing business solution in more than 20 companies. She is currently building and improving analytics and business intelligence solutions to enable and influence strategic decisions at Nedbank. She holds a Bachelors of Engineering as well as a MBA degree from the University of Pretoria.
